The idea of forming a Heat it team was born in 2017 during a student competition. Tired of mosquito bites, a group of enthusiasts decided to try the treatment with concentrated heat and were immediately convinced of its effectiveness. However, the existing products are too inconvenient to carry and cannot be customized… So the team takes matters into their own hands and creates a unique product! Infotel 2000 can now boast that we are the conductor of this project of our partners from Heat it!
Bites from a variety of insects (mosquitoes, horseflies, wasps, bees and others) can be treated effectively with heat, but there also needs to be smart solutions for treating stings. This is what motivated a group of young people to create an innovative medical product while they were still students. Now they are Kamedi GmbH – a dynamic start-up from Karlsruhe with in-house development and high-tech production.
Since 2019, heat it has been a certified manufacturer with its own development and production at the Karlsruhe Technology Plant. Meanwhile, more than 15 brilliant minds work in different departments of the already successful medtech startup. From sourcing, through production, to delivery: heat it leaves nothing to chance and insists on uncompromising quality.
The original idea arose in a student competition at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. The first prototypes, further competitions and the first patent applications quickly follow.
After the company was founded, it found its place in Cyberlab Karlsruhe. This startup accelerator offers the ambitious startup the perfect opportunity to grow.
In the summer of 2019, heat it managed to convince almost 2,000 people to support them in the Startnext crowdfunding. In parallel, they managed to complete the German certification as a manufacturer.
The time has finally come! heat it can be purchased from the online store, selected pharmacies and specialty stores.
The new generation of heat it products takes the insect bite treatment product to a new level. This has been awarded the ISPO Gold Award and numerous television appearances.
Company reaches milestones of 250,000 satisfied customers and 3 million treatments performed. The heat it app appears in a new shine thanks to a major update.
The team is moving on to new horizons and is ready for its fourth mosquito season. heat it is now in over 15 countries worldwide in Europe, North America and Asia!
